MQBone

MQBadapter

The adapter built for MQBone.

MQBadapter plugs into your car's OBD-II port and links it to MQBone over Bluetooth. It's designed by MQBau for one job: fast, reliable diagnostics, logging and flashing on VW Group cars.

Made for MQBone

MQBone has built-in support for MQBadapter, and it's the adapter we test every feature with. Pair it once and the app reconnects on its own when you get in the car, so live data, logging, diagnostics and flashing are ready when you are.

It talks to the car's controllers over CAN and passes their messages to MQBone over Bluetooth Low Energy, with no Wi-Fi network or cables to set up. The app does the rest.

What's inside

  • Fast flashingThe adapter prepares the next block over Bluetooth while the current one is going to the controller, so flashes spend less time waiting.
  • Automotive CANA Texas Instruments CAN transceiver made for in-vehicle networks. The adapter only sends on the bus when MQBone makes a request.
  • Protected powerRuns from the car's 12 V through a resettable fuse, reverse-polarity protection and a transient suppressor, with a wide-input regulator for cranking dips and spikes.
  • Kind to your batteryThe Bluetooth radio sleeps between connection events while the adapter waits for the app.
  • Updates from the appNew firmware arrives over the air through MQBone. No computer needed.
  • Status lightAn RGB LED shines through a slot in the case, so you can see at a glance what the adapter is doing.
  • USB-CFor firmware recovery and diagnostics on the bench, with automatic boot mode.
  • Built to be pulled outThe plug's neck sits in a groove in the case, so plugging in and pulling out loads the case, not the solder joints.
  • Heat-rated caseA smoked translucent polycarbonate lid and a graphite ASA tray, chosen to survive a car parked in the sun, held by four stainless screws.
