MQBpatch
Control your tune from your phone.
MQBpatch is MQBau's patch for Simos 18 engine controllers. It adds map switching, launch control, high-speed logging and more to your tune, and MQBone controls them from Home, Siri and CarPlay.
Three widgets on Home
When MQBone finds MQBpatch on your engine controller, the widgets appear under Add Widget. They read back from the controller after every change, so what you see is what the car is running.
The check-engine light flashes for about two seconds to confirm each change, the same as switching maps with the cruise lever. At every key-on, pops and launch control go back to your tune's settings; the map stays where you left it.
Siri and CarPlay
Ask Siri to switch maps, change pops or set launch control, for example "Switch MQBone to map 2". On CarPlay, the Tune tab shows the same controls on the car's screen. 2-step can't be set by voice.
While the logger is recording, the controls wait: only one thing talks to the car at a time.
What's in the patch
Every feature is off, or stock, until it's set in your tune.
- Map switchingUp to five map slots, each with its own settings. Switch with the cruise lever or the app.
- Launch controlFuel-cut launch, or 2-step spark cut on catless cars (experimental).
- Rolling anti-lagHold the button to hold the rpm on a rolling start, with progressive spark cut. Track only.
- No-lift shiftFlat-foot shifts on manual gearboxes: rpm and torque are held while the clutch is down.
- Traction controlWheel-slip control that trims ignition and boost.
- Flex fuelBlends your maps for the ethanol content the sensor reads.
- Water-methanol injectionControl for a WMI kit. Not on LB4 or LB5.
- Safety mapKnock, a shutdown input or a failed ethanol sensor switches the car to a safe map.
- Gear-shift crackleA brief coil cut on DSG up-shifts. Track only.
- Impulse combustionOne table per map slot, with its own switch.
- High-speed loggingHSL support, so MQBone logs many more parameters, much faster.
- Version checkMQBone reads the patch version and box code, and only offers what your controller supports.
Supported software
MQBpatch is built for these Simos 18 box codes:

A05 has run on a car. The other box codes are tested in our emulator, so check your box code with us before flashing.
- F90: no pops control.
- H14 (Audi MLB): launch control works, but the app shows a warning because the gearbox type isn't checked on MLB.
- F90 and H14: no gear-shift crackle.
- LB4 and LB5: no water-methanol control.
Getting MQBpatch
MQBpatch goes into your tune file. Your tuner adds it and sets up the features you want, using the patch and definition files we supply. Your existing tune and calibration stay as they are.
Once it's flashed, open MQBone and connect. The app finds the patch on its own; there's nothing to set up in the app. ECU Controls are free in MQBone.
Ask about MQBpatchSafety
Track use only. 2-step spark cut, rolling anti-lag, gear-shift crackle and impulse combustion put fuel and air into a hot exhaust. They're for catless cars on a track, carry a real fire risk and are used at your own risk.
Launch control, pops and some other features may not be legal on public roads where you live. You're responsible for how your car is set up and driven. See the terms.
